Varda also has offices in Washington, DC and Huntsville, AL.  Join Varda, and work to create a bustling in-space ecosystem.</div><h2>About this Role</h2> The Materials Manager will primarily support the expansion of inventory and kitting operations to new Varda locations and will also be a secondary backup to the Logistics Manager for inbound and outbound transportation scheduling and coordination. An individual who can thrive in a startup environment, implement process improvements, and support growth into multiple buildings is preferred.   <h2 style="line-height: 1.5;">Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li>Monitor material movements and process flow in the shop  </li> <li>Properly move material to/from receiving and production</li> <li>Develop scaling plans for material movement with multiple buildings </li> <li>Manage lifecycle of material from point of receipt </li> <li>Advise on supply chain material design, focusing on inventory optimization and strategic material movement cost-savings opportunities </li> <li>Design and manage a program that scales with the growth of the production volume and supply base </li> <li>Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments </li> <li>Move material around the factory or to alternate sites </li> <li>Properly store material in inventory </li> <li>Prepare kits of materials requested within ERP system </li> <li>Monitor inventory shelf life and stock levels </li> <li>Perform inventory counts </li> </ul> <h2>Basic Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>Proficiency with Microsoft office and ERP systems or equivalent software </li> <li>3-5+ years of experience with logistics, material movement, inventory management, and expediting  </li> </ul> <h2>Preferred Skills and Experience</h2> <ul> <li>Degree in Supply Chain, Transportation Management, or equivalent experience </li> <li>Experience operating a forklift </li> <li>Logistics experience across multi-site operations, including outbound and inbound international shipping</li> <li>HazMat Certification (DOT, IATA, IMDG, Lithium Ion Battery) </li> <li>Experience in Aerospace or similar fast paced industry </li> <li>Ability to communicate effectively with external suppliers and internal employees </li> <li>Demonstrates organizational excellence </li> </ul> <h2>Pay Range</h2> <ul> <li>Salary range: $92,820-$125,580/per year</li> <li>This role is on-site in El Segundo, CA</li> <li>Leveling and base salary is determined by job-related skills, education level, experience level, and job performance</li> <li>You will be eligible for incentives in the form of stock options and/or long-term cash awards</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><div> <h2>Benefits</h2> Consider your benefits covered for launch.
