In this role, you will report to Honeycomb’s Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) and work closely with the Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and Product/Engineering teams. You will be responsible for pricing, reserving analysis, rate indications, and ensuring data quality to effectively run the business. As a leader, you will be a thought partner in strategic initiatives, product development, and underwriting execution. You possess excellent analytical skills, communicate well, and can manage multiple priorities in a high-paced environment. Your impact will influence growth, profitability, and Honeycomb’s overall success.</p> <h3 class="p1">What You’ll Do</h3> <ul> <li>Conduct regular rate indication analyses and make recommendations to the CUO and Underwriting team for rate adjustments</li> <li>Analyze loss performance of Honeycomb’s product and make recommendations to drive growth and improve profitability</li> <li>Conduct quarterly reserves to develop ultimate loss ratios by line of business</li> <li>Act as a liaison to Honeycomb’s capital and reinsurance partners to align profitability performance and goals</li> <li>Act as the data owner for the Underwriting team to ensure that the team has high quality data and the right access to drive decisions</li> <li>Establish key performance indicators and develop reporting to ensure the health of Honeycomb’s business</li> <li>Assist the Underwriting team with product filings to ensure successful rate and product approvals with state Departments of Insurance for admitted products</li> <li>Drive business and pricing segmentation initiatives to leverage pricing as a key product differentiator and competitive advantage</li> <li>&nbsp;</li> </ul> <h3 class="p1">What You Bring</h3> <ul> <li>10 years+ of actuarial experience related to pricing or reserving with an insurance carrier or MGA</li> <li>Bachelor's degree</li> <li>Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) highly preferred</li> <li>Excellent analytical skills</li> <li>Good presentation skill and the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization</li> <li>Ability to distill key actuarial concepts to others in non-technical terms&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to understand the business holistically and think strategically</li> </ul> <h3>&nbsp;<strong>Benefits</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Salary: $200,000 - $225,000</li> <li>Bonus: 15%</li> <li>ISO stock options</li> <li>Medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents</li> <li>HSA with company contributions</li> <li>401(k) with employer match</li> <li>Flexible time off&nbsp;</li> <li>10 company-paid holidays</li> <li>Paid family leave</li> </ul> <p>Honeycomb is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
