Senior Software Engineer, Support (12 month contract) - Unreal Ecosystem at Riot Games

<p>At Riot, engineers bring deep knowledge of specific technical areas but also value the opportunity to work in a variety of broader domains.</p> <p>As a <strong>Senior Software Engineer</strong> on the Unreal Ecosystem team, you will work with a passionate team of engineers in the support of plugins, tools and systems that empower all developers and collaborators to make the best game experiences for our players.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Unreal Ecosystem (UnEco) team collaborates with partners across Riot, all contributing to a stronger, more efficient Unreal development environment. You’ll navigate diverse technical challenges, ramping up quickly on new topics and solving complex problems in ways that empower both developers and, ultimately, our players.</p> <p>This role is can be based in either Australia or New Zealand, and will be a 12-month contract.</p> <h2>Responsibilities:</h2> <ul> <li>Participate in the on-call rotation within core working hours; resolve game developer workflows &amp; identify points of improvements from hands on support.</li> <li>Build and maintain software systems with a focus on quality, reliability, and maintainability.</li> <li>Write clear documentation and communicate technical details across teams and disciplines.</li> <li>Uphold a high standard of engineering excellence. Participate in code reviews, write unit/integration tests, and contribute to continuous improvement of team practices.</li> </ul> <h2>Required Qualifications:&nbsp;</h2> <ul> <li>4+ years experience in professional software development</li> <li>3+ years of professional experience and proficiency with C++</li> <li>Experience working with game development teams or adjacent industries</li> <li>Experience with Unreal engine</li> <li>Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, concurrency, etc.)</li> <li>Strong communication within and across teams</li> <li>Fluency in English</li> <li>Core Hours align with AEDT 10AM-6PM</li> </ul> <h2>Desired Qualifications:</h2> <ul> <li>Fluency in Mandarin</li> </ul> <p><em>For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes the delight of players.
