Senior Product Manager I, Developer ecosystem (Remote from Bulgaria) at Smartsheet

Operating with significant autonomy and influence, you will shape strategy for two distinct personas: Enterprise Developers building bespoke, code-heavy solutions and Tech-Savvy Business Users orchestrating complex processes at scale. This role is a perfect fit for a Senior PM who thrives in ambiguity and is ready to drive meaningful impact at scale.</p> <p>You will report to the Director, Product Management located in the UK .</p> <p><strong>You Will:</strong></p> <p>Own mission-critical product surfaces that materially impact adoption, revenue, and ecosystem health. Your ownership spans:</p> <p><strong>Public API &amp; Webhooks</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead development of expanded, robust APIs, webhooks, and SDKs that enable deep custom integration across all Smartsheet services.</li> <li>Ensure APIs are scalable, secure, and support advanced use cases for large enterprise accounts.</li> <li>Develop a deep understanding of enterprise customer needs and how they optimize solutions using custom code.</li> <li>Define and execute a pricing and monetization strategy for the Public API.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Set Vision &amp; Strategy</strong></p> <ul> <li>Define and evolve a clear, opinionated product vision and strategy for the Developer Ecosystem, aligned with broader company priorities.</li> <li>Own the developer journey, from discovery through activation to long-term retention. Including Public APIs, Webhooks, and SDK ownership, documentation strategy, sandbox and onboarding experience, and ecosystem standards such as versioning, deprecation, and compatibility policies.</li> <li>Define and track ecosystem health metrics (time-to-first-integration, SDK adoption, integration diversity) and ensure the platform lowers the barrier to building on Smartsheet, including support for emerging integration patterns such as MCP and AI agent frameworks.</li> <li>Identify opportunities where API-driven automation and intelligent defaults can create step-change improvements in developer and user experience.</li> <li>Evangelize the importance of the Developer Ecosystem to Smartsheet's overall growth and strategy.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Strategic Prioritization</strong></p> <ul> <li>Combine user research, experimentation, and technical understanding to prioritize opportunities.</li> <li>Make trade-offs between innovation and reliability, automation and control, speed and trust.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Drive High-Quality Execution</strong></p> <ul> <li>Partner closely with Engineering, Design, and Data to deliver scalable, intuitive experiences that enterprise developers and business users rely on daily.</li> <li>Use experimentation and staged rollouts to validate adoption and product-market fit.</li> <li>Ensure instrumentation and feedback loops are in place to continuously improve platform outputs and user experience.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Lead Through Influence</strong></p> <ul> <li>Align with senior functional leaders on strategy, priorities, and long-term platform bets.</li> <li>Create clarity and momentum by providing context, direction, and crisp decision-making.</li> <li>Raise the bar for technical and platform product thinking by modeling strong judgment and customer obsession.</li> </ul> <p><strong>You Have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years of PM experience, including 1 year leading the strategy and development of a B2B Developer Platform, API, or Ecosystem product.</li> <li>Proven ability to understand and differentiate between the needs of Enterprise Developers and Tech-savvy Business Users.</li> <li>Strong understanding of RESTful API design, webhooks, authentication/authorization frameworks, integration patterns, and low-code/no-code platforms. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern DevOps practices.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience delivering and executing pricing and monetization strategies for platform and API services.</li> <li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders across product, engineering, sales, and marketing.</li> <li>Hands-on experience working with client engineering teams to enable API adoption or build integrations.</li> <li>Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern DevOps practices.</li> <li>Strong analytical mindset and ability to understand system architectures and data flows.</li> <li>Legally eligible to work in Bulgaria on an ongoing basis.</li> <li>Fluency in English is required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Success Metrics</strong></p> <ul> <li>Increased adoption of API and revenue growth from platform services.</li> <li>Growing engagement from users leveraging orchestration tools to customize and scale.</li> <li>Defining and evangelizing the importance of the Developer Ecosystem.</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Get to Know Us:</strong></p> <p>At Smartsheet, your ideas are heard, your potential is supported, and your contributions have real impact.
