About the Team ACCEL Schools is seeking highly qualified Behavior Intervention Specialists at Riverside Academy in Cincinati, Ohio dedicated to providing a superior education for all students!  We are seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist who is excited to create a rigorous and nurturing classroom environment that prioritizes student learning and social-emotional development.  The Behavior Intervention Specialist provides support to at-risk students addressing conduct, discipline, or attendance issues while helping these students become more academically successful. The Behavior Intervention Specialist is responsible for creating classroom and/or school-based behavior models to promote a positive and healthy school environment. About the Opportunity: <ul> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Demonstrate an understanding, respectful and receptive attitude toward the behavioral needs of students of various age groups</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Provide expert knowledge of techniques needed to successfully complete effective Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), function –based interventions, and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Meet with students whose behavior warrants intervention and develop individualized behavior tracking and intervention programs.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Serve on IEP Teams and develop relationship with students requiring intervention</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Work with staff on issues such as crisis intervention, learning and collaboration issues, and factors that can affect development and implementation of interventions.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Serve as a consultant to administrators, teachers, and parents others in finding positive solutions for behavior modification</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Monitors student attendance while developing Absence Intervention Plans, working to achieve school-wide daily attendance.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Promotes school culture through daily practices, positive attitude and collaboration with students, families and staff.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Maintain timely and accurate records and files consistent with school policies and procedures</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Participates in other duties such as school events, trainings, morning duty, dismissal duty, and lunch duty, as needed.</li> </ul> About You: <ul> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, health, or another related field preferred.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Intervention Specialist license preferred</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">A minimum of three years’ experience working with “at-risk” or “behaviorally challenged” children a teacher, social worker, tutor or mentor, preferably in a multi-cultural setting.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Track record of building trust and positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability to maintain composure and job performance under changing or stressful conditions</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Strong written and verbal communication skills that reflect professionalism and tact at all times</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Proficiency in Microsoft Office products</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability to pass federal, state, and local background checks</li> </ul> About Us “We believe that every child should be able to be anything they want in life, regardless of their birthplace and circumstances.” – Ron Packard, CEO & Founder ACCEL Schools is a network of 80+ high-performing, public charter schools serving PK-12 students. We offer the following benefits: Compensation The salary range for this position is $50,000 - 55,000.
