About the Team ACCEL Schools is seeking a Part-Time Custodian in Colorado Springs, Colorado to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the school building. Hours are 3:15 pm to 9:30 pm. About the Opportunity: <ul> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Keep the school grounds safe, secure, and clean at all times</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Perform all routine cleaning, housekeeping, and basic maintenance for the school as prescribed by the custodial duty listing, including, but not limited to: <ul> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Removing trash</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Cleaning and wiping down of blackboards, hand railings, doors, and other surfaces as needed</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Changing light bulbs</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Vacuuming and mopping floors</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Cleaning windows and disinfecting student and staff restrooms</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Assisting with cleaning the food service area</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Painting</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Set up and takes down lunch tables in the multi-purpose room as required</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Perform basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs as needed</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Maintain the external appearance of the building, including the parking lot, playground, sidewalks, steps, and lawns</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Perform snow removal activities as needed, including shoveling, snow-blowing, and salting walkways and steps</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Buff and waxes all floors as needed</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Prepare the school for special events, such as meetings, open houses, etc.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ensure school ground electronic security systems/emergency systems are working properly</li> </ul> </li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Inform School Leader of any damage or wear and tear to school property so that a replacement/refurbishment plan can be initiated</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Willingness to accept training and apply learned skills</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Properly maintain all school tools, supplies, and machinery that are used in day to day operations</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Report to the school on extraordinary event days such as snow days, staff holidays, or other events such as no electric, no water, etc. to inspect the building and ensure the safety and soundness of the building and grounds</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Contribute to a positive climate and culture by exhibiting high professional standards</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Understand, accept, abide by, and implement the school’s philosophy and mission statement in all school activities</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Other duties as assigned</li> </ul> About You: <ul> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">High School diploma or equivalent</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Successful completion of federal and state criminal background checks</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability to perform physical work in all weather conditions</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability to use outdoor and indoor cleaning equipment</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability to report to work outside of school opening hours</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Demonstrated punctuality and reliability in reporting to work as scheduled</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Knowledge of cleaning up and disposal of hazardous and bio-hazardous materials</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Basic knowledge of and ability to perform simple electrical and plumbing repairs</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; Compensation and Benefits The compensation and benefits information below is accurate as of the date of this posting. This position is paid at an hourly rate of $20.00 per hour.  Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  We offer the following benefits for full-time positions, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance, 10 paid holidays annually. All eligible employees will participate in Colorado’s Family & Medical Leave Insurance Program, in accordance with state law.  Paid Time Off: The amount of Paid Time Off (PTO) employees accrue is determined by both their position and the length of their employment term. Employees could accrue up to 10 days of paid time off for 10-month roles, 11 days of paid time off for 11-month roles and 15 days of paid time off for 12-month roles.  We offer several plans to choose from, with a wide range of deductibles and co- insurance levels. We offer plans with set co-pays for certain medical services, as well as a high deductible plan with set co-insurance levels after deductibles have been met. All plans offer both in-network and out-of-network coverage. We also offer flexible spending and health savings accounts.
