If this sparks your interest, you’re in the right place.</div>Senior Mechanical Engineer - Justice + Civic  As a Senior Mechanical Engineer focused on elevating our work within the Justice + Civic sector, you will have the opportunity to work on highly complex projects while collaborating with the sector team to achieve our business plan goals. You will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams to produce high-quality construction documents and manage project schedules to meet deliverable requirements. You will collaborate closely with all disciplines to produce highly integrated building designs.  You will collaborate with the sector leadership team to develop and execute strategies for business development, growing our integrated practice. You will play a key role in client relationship development and management. You will also guide the engineering team to ensure deliverables are of a consistent quality and within budget.  As stewards of the built environment, DLR Group’s Justice+Civic studio elevates behavioral, environmental, and social betterment, resulting in healing, equity, and transformation for the individual and community.  The successful candidate will  <ul> <li>Lead multiple projects and staff over multiple regions to assure local teams of engineers know the specific design criteria of justice projects and train engineering teams in the project type </li> <li>Assure quality of design produced by teams through multiple touch points </li> <li>Manage engineering project execution, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and scope while maintaining client expectations </li> <li>Track project milestones and deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards and preparing regular status reports </li> <li>Facilitate and document meetings with staff and clients, coordinating project personnel, vendors, and consultants </li> <li>Actively engage in business development initiatives by contributing to RFP responses, participating in client interviews and fostering client relationships </li> <li>Lead the design on projects of significance </li> <li>Collaborate early and often with architects, other engineers, and clients as part of our integrated design process </li> <li>Carry out technical review of interdisciplinary teams prior to issuance </li> <li>Represent DLR Group at meetings with owners, clients, and suppliers </li> </ul> Required Qualifications  <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering </li> <li>Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) </li> <li>15+ years of experience working as an engineer, including design of building systems related to Justice + Civic sector.  </li> <li>A strong understanding of Mechanical engineering knowledge:  </li> <li>Smoke control systems design and coordination with smoke modeling consultants </li> <li>Specific mechanical and plumbing systems used in justice facilities </li> <li>Security requirements of justice facilities and how mechanical and plumbing systems tie into security systems </li> <li>Familiarity with facility operations and maintenance of building systems </li> <li>Working knowledge of the design and construction process and the ability to understand and communicate with professionals of other disciplines </li> <li>Strong critical thinking, time management, and communication skills, both verbal and written </li> <li>Understanding of business management and customer service principles </li> <li>Knowledge of local building and energy codes </li> <li>Demonstrated record of consistent quality work </li> <li>Ability to lead others and foster teamwork </li> <li>Knowledge and support of DLR Group’s climate action strategy and commitments, including AIA2030, MEP2040 and SE2050 </li> </ul> Preferred Qualifications  <ul> <li data-leveltext="" data-font="Symbol" data-listid="1" data-list-defn-props="{"335552541":1,"335559685":720,"335559991":360,"469769226":"Symbol","469769242":[8226],"469777803":"left","469777804":"","469777815":"multilevel"}" data-aria-posinset="1" data-aria-level="1">WELL, LEED or relevant accreditation to the region  </li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description">Our comprehensive Benefits at DLR Group include medical, dental, vision, disability, wellness programs, flex spending, paid holidays, and paid time off.
