If you want to work with the most talented people on Earth furthering space exploration for humanity, come join us.</p></div><p>Vast is looking for a <strong>Senior </strong><strong>CNC Programmer</strong>, reporting to the<strong> Supervisor, CNC Programming,&nbsp;</strong>to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.&nbsp;</p> <p>This will be a <strong>full-time</strong>,&nbsp;<strong>non-exempt</strong> position located in our&nbsp;<strong>Long Beach</strong>&nbsp;location.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Program complex parts for our mills and/or lathes.</li> <li>Proficiency in Hypermill and/or Esprit.</li> <li>Work with tooling suppliers to determine the best tools for the job.</li> <li>Understand how to ramp parts from development to production.</li> <li>Reduce machine time per part when possible.</li> <li>Ability to read and interpret aerospace drawings.&nbsp;</li> <li>Increase overall efficiency of machining operations.</li> <li>Procure tooling necessary for jobs.</li> <li>Effectively work as a team and pass on workload to the following shift.</li> <li>Support and foster a strong team environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>6+ years of CNC machining experience and 3+ years of programming experience.</li> <li>High school diploma or equivalent experience.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Skills &amp; Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Working knowledge of GD&amp;T.</li> <li>Familiarity with inspection tools.</li> <li>Understanding of CAD and CAM software.</li> <li>Understanding of feeds and speeds.</li> <li>Knowledge of G-Code.</li> <li>Strong Mechanical aptitude.</li> <li>Ability to ensure quality parts are produced from programs being created/proved out.</li> <li>Strong oral and written communication.</li> <li>College or Trade school certificate.</li> <li>Working knowledge of Additive Manufactured Parts.</li> <li>Multi-axis Mill, Lathe, Mill-Turn and Turn-Mill knowledge.</li> <li>Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Additional Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones.</li> <li>Ability to lift up to 35 lbs unassisted.</li> <li>Prolonged periods of standing, pushing/pulling, lifting, and operating machines.</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="title">Pay Range: California</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$45</span><span class="divider">&mdash;</span><span>$60 USD</span></div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion"><div style="line-height: 1;"><strong>COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS</strong></div> <div style="line-height: 1;">&nbsp;</div> <div style="line-height: 1;"> <div> <div data-qa="message_pane"> <div> <div id="message-list"> <div id="message-list"> <div data-qa="slack_kit_scrollbar"> <div> <div data-qa="slack_kit_list"> <div id="message-list_1770163429.476589" data-qa="virtual-list-item" data-item-key="1770163429.476589"> <div data-qa="message_container" data-qa-unprocessed="false" data-qa-placeholder="false" data-msg-ts="1770163429.476589" data-msg-channel-id="D1T52LDR4"> <div data-qa-hover="true"> <div> <div> <div> <div data-qa="message_content"> <div> <div data-qa="message-text"> <div data-qa="block-kit-renderer"> <div> <div> <div>Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand.
