<p>We’re seeking a Lead Product Manager, Accounts to own Alpaca’s brokerage accounts product area end-to-end - account models, onboarding and lifecycle, KYC / KYB, sub-accounts and multi-accounts, IRA cross-work, and the APIs and operational workflows our partners rely on. This is a senior product role focused on area ownership and execution, not people management - you’ll own the accounts roadmap and personally ship across multiple lanes in parallel, partnering with the other PMs in the accounts area (Account Structures, IRA, tax / cost basis) to raise the standard of work shipped across the swimlane.</p>
<p>This role sits at the intersection of regulatory complexity, developer experience, and scale. You’ll unify what is today a set of important but fragmented initiatives - so partners get predictable APIs, clear documentation, and reliable delivery - while we expand globally across multiple licensed entities and regional accounts and tax regimes. You’re expected to provide early signal on US policy changes (FINRA, FATCA, OFAC, beneficial-ownership / CDD) rather than react after rules formalize.</p>
<p>You’ll work across many partner, engineering and operational teams, and you’ll represent the accounts area in product reviews, partner exec syncs, and leadership-level discussions. Success is measured by partner adoption and production usage of account capabilities - not by ship dates or volume of documentation alone.</p>
<p><strong>Things You Get To Do</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Own the product vision, roadmap, and success metrics for the entire accounts area - account models, onboarding / lifecycle, KYC / KYB, sub-accounts / multi-accounts, and IRA cross-work.</li>
<li>Personally execute across multiple in-flight lanes in parallel - not just sequencing them from above, but shipping work yourself on the most strategically important ones.</li>
<li>Rationalize how we expose account APIs and internal systems - including where a “single” KYC / KYB surface must flex for different account types, jurisdictions, and partner operating models.</li>
<li>Drive build-vs-buy, partner-vs-direct, and onshore-vs-offshore tradeoffs across the area; re-sequence the roadmap under real constraints (regulator deadlines, partner asks, eng capacity).</li>
<li>Partner deeply with engineering, broker-dealer operations, compliance, legal, partnerships, success, and sales to prioritize initiatives that balance regulatory risk, operational load, revenue impact, and time-to-market.</li>
<li>Lead discovery with partners and prospects - understand blocking requirements, translate needs into sequenced roadmaps, push back on asks that don’t fit the platform, and communicate honest timelines and scope.</li>
<li>Shape pricing and packaging inputs where account products imply different operational handling - working with commercial and operations stakeholders so what we sell matches what we can deliver and support at scale.</li>
<li>Support global expansion of account capabilities as Alpaca grows its regional broker-dealer footprint - including regional account constructs, tax-advantaged or retirement-like products, and jurisdiction-specific rules (US / non-US).</li>
<li>Define and monitor adoption across accounts - onboarding funnel health, API adoption, time-to-first-funded-account, verification pass rates, partner-reported blockers, operational throughput; willing to sunset or rework features that don’t drive adoption rather than calling them done at launch.</li>
<li>Raise the standard of work shipped across the accounts area - mentor peer PMs, set quality bar, unblock adjacent teams.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Who You Are (Must-Haves)</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>10+ years of experience in Product Management, Engineering, Consulting, or starting a startup, with senior IC ownership in a regulated identity, accounts, or brokerage domain.</li>
<li>Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of an accounts-shaped surface at production scale - at least two of: KYC / identity verification, new account types (entity / joint / custodial / trust), sub-accounts / multi-accounts, IRA / tax-advantaged account structures.</li>
<li>Direct experience navigating US accounts / identity regulatory frameworks - FINRA KYC / AML, FATCA, IRS entity rules, beneficial-ownership / CDD, OFAC screening.</li>
<li>Track record of setting and executing an area-level roadmap across multiple in-flight workstreams in parallel - not just shipping a single product.</li>
<li>Proven ability to operate as a senior product owner who raises the standard around them - mentors peers, sets quality bar, represents the area in cross-functional and leadership forums without holding a manager title.</li>
<li>Exceptional written and verbal communication; ability to run partner-facing conversations, regulator-adjacent forums, and internal leadership updates.</li>
<li>Experience analyzing data using SQL and a relevant BI tool.</li>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, finance, or equivalent.</li>
</ul>

<li>A track record of owning and shipping multiple workstreams in parallel over the last 2-3 years - not just setting vision and facilitating tradeoffs.</li>
<li>Hands-on regulated-product experience at the shipping and mechanical-chain layer, not just the policy and framework layer.</li>
<li>The senior posture to sequence in-flight accounts work (sub-accounts / multi-accounts, KYC, entity accounts) from day one, without a six-month ramp.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Who You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves)</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Direct broker-dealer or institutional brokerage experience - Schwab, Fidelity, IBKR, Apex, Drivewealth, or correspondent-clearing equivalents.</li>
<li>Experience standing up KYC / identity programs from scratch, not just iterating on an inherited one.</li>
<li>Familiarity with the B2B2C correspondent / broker-as-a-service model - partners as primary customers, end retail customers downstream.</li>
<li>Direct experience with entity / corporate onboarding, beneficial ownership, or KYB at scale.</li>
<li>Familiarity with US retirement accounts (e.g., IRA ecosystem, rollovers) and/or non-US registered / tax-advantaged account types.</li>
<li>Experience unifying fragmented account or identity stacks behind consistent APIs and data models.</li>
<li>Background in broker-dealer operations (exceptions queues, document review, account maintenance) and automation opportunities.</li>
<li>AI-native PM workflow - recurring use of tools like Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, NotebookLM, or custom agents in PRD drafting, customer-call synthesis, data exploration, and prototyping.</li>
