<p>Space Kinetic is a dual use space technology startup building a completely new architecture for space operations – one that brings the advantages of proliferated drone technology (low-cost, operationally flexible, attainable, distributed) to space missions while reducing the ecosystem's reliance on consumable fuel. In a world where many companies are focused on incrementally improving the status quo, we are focused on creating something entirely different – an architecture underpinned by new first principles to meet the opportunities and challenges of the third space age head-on. Our goal is to move away from one-to-one space architectures – where each satellite in a constellation has one (or a small # of) primary payloads attached to the bus -- and unlock a ‘one-to-many’ system, where each satellite has a large number of payloads which can be deployed from their host spacecraft at high velocities without firing a thruster.</p>
<p>This is not a role for someone looking for a traditional 40-hour work week. Space Kinetic is building ambitious, first-of-its-kind technology, and that requires urgency, ownership, and a high level of commitment to changing the foundational assumptions for everything we do in space.</p>

<p><strong><span data-contrast="none">What You’ll Do:</span></strong> </p>
<p>We are seeking an experienced<strong> Setup CNC Machinist / Operator </strong>to support multi-axis machining in a fast-paced prototype and production environment. This hands-on role is ideal for a machinist who enjoys producing complex, tight-tolerance parts and collaborating directly with engineering teams.</p>
<p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">Job Responsibilities:</span></strong></p>
<ul>
<li data-section-id="v07r5y" data-start="343" data-end="446">Set up and operate multi-axis CNC mills and lathes, including three-, four-, and five-axis equipment.</li>
<li data-section-id="1ikz3y3" data-start="447" data-end="538">Perform complete machine setups, including tooling, offsets, workholding, and prove-outs.</li>
<li data-section-id="t35uy6" data-start="539" data-end="623">Machine complex, tight-tolerance aerospace components from a variety of materials.</li>
<li data-section-id="8je5dl" data-start="624" data-end="717">Interpret blueprints, GD&T, models, and work instructions to complete machining operations.</li>
<li data-section-id="16ok3gp" data-start="718" data-end="835">Perform drilling, tapping, milling, turning, finishing, and deburring for prototype and short-run production parts.</li>
<li data-section-id="1pfg8ie" data-start="836" data-end="916">Inspect parts during machining to maintain quality and tolerance requirements.</li>
<li data-section-id="c7551f" data-start="917" data-end="1032">Collaborate with programmers and engineers to troubleshoot issues and improve machining processes and efficiency.</li>
<li data-section-id="a3alol" data-start="1033" data-end="1142">Maintain machines and work areas through chip management, basic preventative care, and safe shop practices.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What It Takes:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li data-section-id="ohf7dr" data-start="1164" data-end="1200">High school diploma or equivalent.</li>
<li data-section-id="62f06" data-start="1201" data-end="1263">5+ years of CNC machining setup and operation experience.</li>
<li data-section-id="14kgfx9" data-start="1264" data-end="1337">Experience setting up and operating multi-axis CNC mills and/or lathes.</li>
<li data-section-id="1x6clbs" data-start="1338" data-end="1386">Strong blueprint-reading and shop math skills.</li>
<li data-section-id="sbccxc" data-start="1387" data-end="1460">Experience machining tight-tolerance aerospace or precision components.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What We'd Love:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li data-section-id="17megrz" data-start="1483" data-end="1548">Experience with five-axis machining and/or mill-turn equipment.</li>
<li data-section-id="po7l31" data-start="1549" data-end="1595">Prototype or short-run machining experience.</li>
<li data-section-id="12uw0g" data-start="1596" data-end="1644">Experience editing and troubleshooting G-code.</li>
<li data-section-id="rq9thr" data-start="1645" data-end="1697">Experience with Mastercam or another CAM platform.</li>
<li data-section-id="47hy96" data-start="1698" data-end="1779">Experience machining materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium.</li>
<li data-section-id="1vlpqi3" data-start="1780" data-end="1849">Strong understanding of tooling, feeds and speeds, and workholding.</li>
<li data-section-id="1wzia83" data-start="1850" data-end="1916">Ability to work independently in a fast-moving shop environment.</li>
</ul>
